Fixed up

My host removed all the damage done to the blog’s files and the directories added to the domain. I’ve changed permissions and hardened the password. The “hacker’” IP was blocked.

I don’t know how long this has gone on and my host tells me that my feed probably wasn’t working for a while. Lets hope that the feed now gets to the readers and bots out there now.

I just learned that my site was hacked.  Somehow, someone either got my ftp username and password or did a brute force attack and added spam text to my index.php file.  For some reason, I didn’t have the right permissions set on it. 

If you use WordPress, check your file to see if you have a bunch of spam at the end of the file.  It was messing up my feed.

It’s a shame we live in a world where people feel it’s OK to do things like this.  This is a great example, my fellow dads, of why it is so important for us to raise our kids well. They need to have a conscience and understand right from wrong.
