Traveling back
The night is starting to give way. I see light peeking from behind the mountains. It’s cold. Very cold, for me at least. My Mac widget tells me it’s 38F.
It’s a quiet morning and I’m sitting in the dining room that has the most amazing views because two of it’s walls are windows. I can see the mountain homes that are scattered here and there. Lights are starting to be turned on. I wonder if their dads are also getting up?
It’s been a great little get away for us. Last night, in particular, we drove up to Highlands, NC to dine at the Sir Edwards Inn. The restaurant is called Madison’s and I highly recommend it to anyone. It’s beautiful and the food was delicious. Pricey, but worth it.
What I truly enjoyed most was sitting at the head of the table, my future brother-in-law sitting on the opposite end. My sister-in-law, a cousin, my wife and kids lined the rest of the table. The kids behaved extremely well for a very “upper end” restaurant. Not one spilled glass!
The ladies started with a small glass of champaign and the guys settled on harder liquor- Black on the rocks, Kettle One, and a grey goose martini. Kids had coke on the rocks, of course. We don’t do it often but when we do, we like to splurge a little bit. It’s worth it and it makes the experience a little more special.
Today we spend the day here and then catch a 6 pm flight back home. I’m trying to focus on the present and enjoy the last few hours we have here. It’s hard. On the last day of the vacation, isn’t difficult to stop thinking about your trip back and everything you need to do when you get home? Kinda ruins your last day.
Anyway, it’s been wonderful and I’m thankful for all the blessings God has given me and my family. I hope yours went as well.
Best.

Well, I hope Thanksgiving turned out to be everything you expected- good food, family and friends. If you got in a little football, good for you!
Here are some more pictures from the mountains.
Thanksgiving in the Mountains
It’s 35 degrees and beautiful. The sun is starting to peak over the mountain next to me. The family’s asleep. I’m typing away as usual.
It’s peaceful. It feels right.
I hope your Thanksgiving is filled with the joy that comes from having a family of your own. Take a look at them. Think about how blessed you are.
You’ve worked hard and there’s been a lot of stress and sacrifice. But get passed that. Look at your wife and kids. You’ve done good.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
Traveling to the Smoky Mountains today
I’m taking the family to the Smoky Mountains today to pass the Thanksgiving holidays. I’ll be taking pictures and posting from up there.
I wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving!
Read MoreWhen do you know you’ve become obsessed with your computer?
When you write an article like the one written by Mark Morford of SFGate.com about his new MacBook Pro. It’s entitled “When Apple Rules the World What does it mean when you really, really want to lick a new MacBook Pro and swoon?“Â
I just got this notebook myself and I can vouch that it is one SWEET machine. However, I think this guy takes the cake when it comes to obsessing over it.
Here’s how he describes it:
lick-ready smooth-as-love Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo Super Orgasm Deluxe Ultrahard Modern Computing Device Designed by God Herself Somewhere in the Deep Moist Vulva of Cupertino Yes Yes Don’t Stop Oh My God Yes.
So, if you’ve been holding back on purchasing that new Mac or you’re on the fence about switching, go for the new MacBook Pro. I’m sure you can’t say the above about a PC.
